The Aspleniaceae, also known as the spleenworts, are a family of ferns. Members of this family grow from creeping fleshy roots. They are characterized by clusters of spores on the underside of their leaves. Members of this family grow both on the ground and epiphytically on other trees. The Aspleniaceae are distributed throughout the world in both temperate and tropical climates.
