The Polypodiaceae are a family of ferns, almost all of which grow on the branches of trees. They reproduce by spores rather than flowers. The Polypodiaceae grow from a root-like stem that creeps along the tree and are easy to spot due to their distinctive scales. They are found mostly in tropical and climates.
