The Rubiaceae, known as the coffee family, is a very diverse family of flowering plants. The Rubiaceae are easily recognizable by their simple leaves emerging in pairs along the stem. They range in form from small non-woody plants to trees. The Rubiaceae are found in most environments but most of the diversity occurs in the tropics.
