

Bulnesia arborea
Very rare and often grown for its highly ornamental, gold-yellow flowers which emerge during the summer months, and durable timber. Bulnesia arborea, ‘verawood’, is native to Colombia and Venezuela. Its trunk can grow to between 10-15 metres tall, but as these plants mature their branches spread wide. Drooping branches, paired with feather-like leaves, form rounded, dense canopies.
Watering
In S/S water when 20% of the top soil has dried out. In A/W allow top soil to dry out 50% (or further). This plant is drought tolerant.
Light requirements
Full sun (or light shade). South, west, or east facing window ideally.
Feed
Use a house plant fertiliser every month between April - September.
Repotting
Repot every 2-3 years, or once roots begin to protrude out of the. Use a very well-draining, sandy potting mix. Repot every 2-3 years.
