Calathea warscewiczii

This elegant and refined beauty is endemic to Costa Rica and Nicaragua, where it can grow up to a metre tall. Its deep green lanceolate leaves spread out and arch, with a delicate lighter green pattern running through the middle of each leaf. A velvety texture all over gives this plant a look that can only be described as luxurious. 

Watering

In S/S water when the top surface of the soil has dried out. In A/W allow top soil to dry out 10%.

Light requirements

Bright, indirect.

Feed

Use a houseplant fertiliser every 3-4 weeks during the growing season (April - September).

Repotting

Repot every 2-3 years using a houseplant compost or when roots appear from the bottom of the nursery container.
