Dracaena draco
The dramatic Dracaena draco. The most striking of the ‘Dragon Trees’ is slow growing, producing just a chunky single stem as a juvenile plant but eventually spreading out and branching out. Dense rosettes of long sword-shaped leaves in shades of blue-green with tinges of silver are around 60cm long, while the trees themselves can reach an imposing 7.5 metres in the wild.
Watering
In S/S water when 30% of the top soil has dried out. In A/W allow top soil to dry out 50%. A good tip to remember - if your plant is getting less light then it will need less water.
Light requirements
Bright, indirect. Shade tolerant.
Feed
Use a houseplant fertiliser 2-3 times a year.
Repotting
Repot every 3 years or alternatively replace the top 10cm of the soil with fresh house plant compost every 2 years.
