Euphorbia grandialata

A rare and thorny columnar species, Euphorbia grandialata grows with a solitary trunk at first before branching out from the base. Its most distinct feature consists of its wide rounded sections presenting periods of rapid growth, before becoming narrow again. During the growing season the succulent can also produce small branchlets, which are deciduous and die back for the plants’ dormant period. Long grey spines emerge from its grey ribs, while stems appear with an almost yellowish striped pattern. Its yellow blooms are made up of small clusters of cymes, emerging during the growing season.
