This silver-green globose succulent shrub is endemic to Madagascar, growing in abundance by the coastal dunes and rocky outcrops near the region of Ambatofinandrahana. Its many branches produce modified secondary branchlets, which are flat and somewhat spiky. This easy to care for species is relatively compact within its growth, reaching a height of 1.5 metres at maturity
