Hoodia gordonii

The magnificent dusty, blue Hoodia has a dense chunky growth habit with numerous branches creating a traditional cactus silhouette. This hard to find species has large satellite shaped apricot flowers that can smell a little unpleasant if left for too long on the plant.

Watering

Water when soil is dry 100%. Water lightly (if at all) during winter months.

Light requirements

Full sun.

Feed

Use a cactus fertiliser 3 times between March - November.

Repotting

It can stay in the same pot for a number of years as it is such a slow growing plant. If it does ever become too small for the pot it is in, repot into one size up and use a well draining cactus compost, adding extra drainage such as perlite, pumice or grit.

Pot size / height

See available sizes below. Please note that, due to their natural variability, specimens' height may be within 10-20% of the stated height below.

Supplied in a plastic nursery pot.
