Hoya obovata

Commonly known as ‘waxplants’, due to their glossy and shiny foliage, species of Hoya are evergreen perennials which are mostly epiphytic with a large portion of the 200-300 species within the genus originating from tropical regions. Hoya obovata grow thick fleshy obovate leaves, with pale splashes of silver.

Watering

Water when 80% of the soil is dry.

Light requirements

Bright but not direct.

Feed

Use a houseplant fertiliser once a month from April - October.

Repotting

Repot every two years to give the roots more space to grow and to replenish the soil. Use a well draining house plant compost with 30-40% added draining medium like perlite, grit or hydroleca.
