Lithops (Mixed Species)

The incredible but tiny Lithops, known as living stones, have adapted to the dry deserts of South Africa. These little stemless succulents camouflage into the surroundings to avoid being grazed by animals in their native habitat.

Watering

Water when 100% of the soil is dry. Water from mid-spring to end of summer only. Lithops can become dormant in summer and as a result need little watering. New leaves usually begin to emerge in spring - so refrain from watering while the old leaves are drying out. Old leaves need to be completely shrivelled before watering can start again, even during spring and summer months. If the plant is mature enough to flower, withhold water after flowering

Light requirements

Full sun.

Feed

Use a cactus fertiliser once in autumn.

Repotting

Repot or refresh soil every 2-3 years. Use a well draining cactus compost, adding extra drainage such as perlite, pumice or grit.
