Parodia magnifica

Blue-green globose clusters of Notocactus magnificus are lined with gold-yellow, bristly spines. Wooly areoles along the ribs meet at top of each globe to produce a thick, wooly crown which emerges with vibrant yellow, funnel-shaped flowers in spring. The soft colours of this magnificent cactus belong in the palettes of renaissance paintings.

Watering

Water when soil is 100% dry. Water lightly (if at all) during cold winter months. Aloes can be prone to rot if cold and wet at the same time.

Light requirements

Full sun.

Feed

If not repotting then you can use a well-balanced cactus feed every month from April - September.

Repotting

Repot this plant every two years to replenish the soil and to allow extra room for the roots to spread out. Use a well-draining and gritty cactus compost.
