Opuntia subulata

Native (and abundant) to the Andes of Peru, Opuntia subulata is a well-known, shrubby cactus. It produces many bright green, elongated branches, from which fleshy leaves emerge. Thick, long spines can usually be seen on mature segments of this plant, while new growth has short spines. Its segments are also easy to propagate!
