Oxalis bowiei 'Amarantha'

Native to South Africa, Oxalis bowiei ‘Amarantha’ is commonly known as ‘Cape shamrock’. Bright green and deeply lobed foliage can grow up to 20cm tall, spreading to as wide as 35cm. Small fuchsia pink flowers emerge on thin stalks during the growing season, opening in the day time and closing at night.

Watering

In S/S water when 30% of the top soil has dried out. In A/W allow top soil to dry out 50%. Can go dormant during winter.

Light requirements

Bright, indirect. 

Feed

Use a houseplant fertiliser every 2 - 4 weeks from April - October.

Repotting

Repot roughly every 1-1.5 years. Use a well draining house plant compost with added draining medium like perlite.
