Parodia (Notocactus) herteri

Growing within sandy or rocky soil amongst the grasslands of a small area Brazil, Parodia herteri usually grows a solitary bright green stem. Its many ribs, with pale brown spines, begin to spiral with age. Large pink flowers emerge from the wooly apex during the summer months.

Watering

Water when soil is 100% dry. Water lightly (if at all) during cold winter months. Aloes can be prone to rot if cold and wet at the same time.

Light requirements

Full sun.

Feed

If not repotting then you can use a well-balanced cactus feed every month from April - September.

Repotting

Repot this plant every two years to replenish the soil and to allow extra room for the roots to spread out. Use a well-draining and gritty cactus compost.
