Philodendron brandtianum

Heart-shaped, deep green leaves with strokes of glistening silver. Philodendron brandtianum is easily recognisable. This epiphyte originates from tropical South America, and loves high humidity.  In their natural habitats they are found scaling up trees in search of water and nutrients, so provide them with something to climb on and mist them often. 

Watering

In S/S water when 20% of the top soil has dried out. In A/W allow top soil to dry out 50%. A high humidity lover, so mist often.

Light requirements

Bright, indirect.

Feed

Use a houseplant fertiliser once a month from April - October.

Repotting

Repot every 2-3 years when roots begin to protrude out of the drainage holes. Use a well draining house plant potting mix, with added draining medium like perlite.
