Pilea peperomioides

The ‘Chinese money plant’ has almost perfectly round, coin shaped leaves. Each disk is suspended on a dainty petiole that comes out from the main stem. You can manipulate the way the stem grows by choosing where the light is. A sky light will produce an upright specimen on the Pilea, where as a shelf above a window will force the plant to trickle down.

Watering

In S/S water when 20% of the top soil has dried out. In A/W allow top soil to dry out 40%.

Light requirements

Bright, indirect.

Feed

Use a house plant fertiliser every month between April - September.

Repotting

Repot every year when young, and then only when roots emerge from the drainage holes.

Pot size / height

See available sizes below. Please note that, due to their natural variability, specimens' height may be within 10-20% of the stated height below.

Plant is supplied in its plastic nursery pot.
