This gigantic specimen is 3 metres tall, with a width that’s not much smaller than its height. On the outside, an almost perfectly round shape of glossy leaves, while at a closer look its woody stems are intertwined in a web of aerial roots.
Schefflera arboricola is native to Hainan Province, China. Commonly known as the dwarf umbrella plant. Growing similarly to the Schefflera actinophylla, but with much smaller leaves and a more compact growth habit.
Watering
In S/S water when 30% of the top soil has dried out. In A/W allow top soil to dry out 50%. A good tip to remember - if your plant is getting less light then it will need less water.
Light requirements
Bright, indirect. Shade tolerant.
Feed
Use a houseplant fertiliser once a month from April - October.
Repotting
Repot every 2 years or alternatively replace the top 10cm of the soil with fresh house plant compost every year.
