Senecio anteuphorbium f. cristata

Commonly known as ‘Swizzle Sticks’, Senecio anteuphorbium is a succulent shrub, and has a native range from Morocco to the Arabian Peninsula. Its fleshy, pale, grey-green stems are cylindrical in shape, with small leaves emerging near the tips of each branch. The surface of this fast-growing succulent is also covered with minuscule, white dots.

Watering

Water thoroughly when soil is dry 100% during spring/summer months. Water lightly (if at all) during winter months.

Light requirements

Full sun.

Repotting

This species can live in the same pot for several years. When the roots become too large for its pot, repot into a slightly larger pot. Use a well draining cactus compost, adding extra drainage medium such as perlite, pumice or grit.

Use a cactus fertiliser 3 times between March - November.
