Senecio rowleyanus

Senecio rowleyanus is a creeping succulent vine, native to the Cape Provinces of South Africa. Recognised by its distinct round plump leaves, which have earned it the name string-of-pearls or string-of-beads, it can form a dense carpet of green pea-like leaves along the ground. Its stems can reach just under a metre in length.

Watering

In summer water thoroughly only when 100% of the soil has dried out. A/W allow soil to dry 100% - water sparingly (every two months). In spring gradually increase watering - depending on temperature and light exposure.

Light requirements

Full sun.

Repotting

Repot every 2-3 years using cactus and succulent potting mix with added drainage medium like horticultural sand, grit, or pumice.

Feed

Use a cactus feed from March - November every other time you water.
