Tylecodon paniculatus

Growing across a range of areas, throughout rocky slopes in ravines or valleys in South West Africa, Tylecodon paniculatus can grow to 1.5 metres tall. Its stout and chunky caudex grows in a green-yellow colour, which has a pale yellow peeling bark all over. Clusters of spirally arranged bright green leaves emerge from the tips of its branches, which die back at the height of the summer when the plant enters dormancy..

Watering

Water when 100% of the soil has dried out, during the active growing season between late summer through to early spring. Water sparingly during the cold winter months.

Light requirements

Full sun. Protect from harsh afternoon summer rays.

Feed

Use a cactus fertiliser 2-3 times a year.

Repotting

Repot once every 2-3 years if roots have outgrown the pot or to replenish soil. Use a well-draining cactus and succulent potting mix, with added drainage medium for a more sandy and gritty mix.

Pot size / height

See available sizes below. Please note that, due to their natural variability, specimens' height may be within 10-20% of the stated height below.

Plant is supplied in its plastic nursery pot.
