The Araceae is a family of flowering plants, often growing from tubers or fleshy roots. The flowers of the Araceae grow on an elongated stem with a large leaf-like structure wrapped around them. The Araceae are mostly found in tropical areas of south and central America, but are also present in other tropical regions and some northern temperate areas.
